About the Movie
OSCAR® Winner Nicole Kidman, Ewan McGregor, Jim Broadbent and John Lequizamo head an internationally renowned cast in this musical extravaganza. Baz Luhrmann’s sensual reinvention of the movie musical was nominated for 8 ACADEMY AWARDS® including Best Picture. Set in a Paris nightclub that caters to society’s decadent elite, the exhilarating Moulin Rouge follows the story of the ill-fated love affair between a stunning courtesan (Kidman) and a struggling young writer (McGregor).
Things To Know
Your journey to the Moulin Rouge begins with a vocal warm-up where we’ll belt out all those Elton John, David Bowie and Patti LaBelle classics. Then, our host will show you how to use the props in your Fun Pack before teaching you the choreography from some of the songs from the movie. And once the film starts you can be heroes (just for one day!) with a theatre full of fantastically dressed gents and courtesans who know diamonds are a girl’s best friend and that love is a many splendored thing! Viva la Moulin Rouge!
Costumes Required! Okay, not required but strongly encouraged! Keep it simple with a boa and a fascinator, take it up a notch with a glittery gown or a tux, or go all out with can-can skirts and bustiers. Want to be a true Diamond Dog? Get creative and do something completely original: one fan came dressed as the Moulin Rouge building, complete with windmill and a mini Toulouse-Lautrec perched on his shoulder!
