The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a 1975 British musical horror comedy/rock opera film that parodies science fiction and B-movie horror films. The film introduced Tim Curry and features Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick along with cast members from the original Kings Road production of the play first performed in the Theatre Upstairs at the Royal Court Theatre in 1973.

Still in limited release 40 years after its premiere, it has the longest-running theatrical release in film history and is considered a cult classic gaining notoriety as a midnight movie in 1977 when audiences began participating with the film in theaters across the United States.

The cast puts on a sleek and sexy professional show complete with scenery, props, screen accurate costumes, and audience partici…pation. Barely Legal has been throwing Rocky Horror parties in the Bay Area for more than 20 years. It’s like seeing a play and a movie at the same time – and you are part of the experience!

Just as important, is the fun accepting environment the cast creates. Barely Legal is dedicated to providing a safe outlet for creativity while teaching professional and social skills such as team building, theatre arts, props-making and more. Come enjoy the show or get more involved as a member of the cast.

Things To Know

Rocky Horror is a fun, lively experience … but there are some rules.

We encourage participation, but please do NOT bring: rice, water, confetti, squirt bottles, or lighters — they are not allowed, NO EXCEPTIONS.

“Survival Kits” are provided by Barely Legal included in your admission before the show and contain: bubbles, noise makers, toilet paper, toast (bagged up tight!), cards, and instruction sheets (explaining when to use each item).

When you use the items included in your Survival Kit, make sure to throw them up and back. Do not throw anything at the cast or the screen.

Want a photo with a cast member? Ask – they’re all friendly. But no photography is allowed during the film/performance.

Please tell your friends!
