Activate your creative juices in collaboration with professional theater artists at a theater workshop presented by SVCreates and 3Below Theaters. Whether you love performing or just want to discuss a play, ShakeXperience is something fun and fresh for participants over 55 years of age. ShakeXperience is part theater history, part book group, part improv training, and culminates with a staged reading. No memorization necessary!

 

Schedule

  • Classes begin September 5, 2018 | Meets weekly for 8 weeks ending October 24*
    • *There will not be class on Wednesday, September 19 in observance of Yom Kippur
  • Classes are held Wednesday** mornings from 9:30 am – 11:30 am
    • **The make-up class will be on Monday, September 17
  • The workshop will culminate in a staging reading for invited guests on Wednesday, October 24 at 11:30 am

 

Cost

$160 per student vs. $60 + 8 volunteer slots*

*Participants can enroll with the full fee of $160 or opt to pay $60 and commit to 8 volunteer slots at 3Below. Volunteer opportunities include serving as an usher for live events and movies, helping to make fun-packs (e.g. goodie bags) for interactive events, and/or helping promote 3Below experiences by distributing flyers at job fairs, community events, festivals, etc.

WHAT TO BRING:
  • A pencil
  • A water bottle
  • A great attitude and willingness to have fun with others
WHAT TO WEAR:
  • Comfortable clothing you can move freely in.
  • Please wear shoes that secure to your foot (e.g. no flip flops, please.)
CAN MY FRIEND/FAMILY MEMBER COME WITH ME TO CLASS:
  • Your friends and family are very welcome to attend the final showcase at 11:30 am on October 24 but the classes are closed to anyone not enrolled.
I HAVE TO MISS A CLASS, IS THAT OK?
  • We understand it is sometimes difficult to clear your schedule on the same day for eight consecutive weeks. Missing 1 or 2 classes is fine if you are unable to reschedule another commitment but if you feel you’ll need to miss 3 or more classes please consider waiting until the next session to participate. Sorry, no prorating available.
